New Journey Fellowship

Today, we are once again thrilled to have our dear brother, Antonio Ner with us in our services. Antonio has been a long time friend of our church. A friendship which began many years ago, as one Sunday night, he and Brother Guillermo Olipas simply showed up for our Sunday Evening Service. Throughout these many years, Antonio has been faithfully serving the Lord in his home country, the Philippines, and we are truly blessed to be simply a small part of that ministry. I truly am excited to hear what he has to tell us this morning, as he shares what God is doing in the Philippines.
By now, I am sure that you have all heard about the new school shooting down in Texas. More senseless death. Unnecessary suffering. Heartache and heart break. Of course, as you watch the news, the drum beat about guns has once again, already begun. No one should be surprised at this. We humans always want some thing, or some one to blame. But the problem is not a gun problem. No, it’s a sin problem. Yes, a sin is the real source of the problem. As I see it, we live in a nation which once valued the things of God. Even if people were not believers, they understood the importance of God and His Word. We had a moral compass which was based upon something above human opinion. We believed in absolutes, and these absolutes were established by God’s Word. It was John Adams (our second president) who said “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
Yes, it breaks our hearts when we hear and see these reports, but we need to wake up and realize that we need to start dealing with the real issue, the sin issue. There is but one cure, there is but one hope and that is found in none other than Jesus Christ. He truly is the Answer. Please pray for the victims. Pray for the families. Pray for our nation. -Pastor Tim
